NetPing 2 IP PDU GSM3G R2 | ACTIVE | 232 |
General usage conditions - for industrial and commercial usage in conditions of high humidity (0-95%, non-condensing). The device is not intended for domestic use. |
NetPing 2 IP PDU GSM3G R2 belongs to the IP PDU (an IP Power Distribution Unit) class. These devices allow you to turn on / off and reboot equipment automatically or remotely (via a web interface, using SNMP commands or HTTP API) by controlling two 100 .. 250V 50/60 Hz sockets. This IP PDU is able to receive input from various “dry contact” type sensors, has a built-in ionistor (supercapacitor) to send notifications from sensors when the main power supply is lost, and built-in 3G GSM modem, which allows to send SMS notifications and to control IP PDU via SMS commands, as well as an external battery connector to be able to operate uninterruptedly.
Some use cases of NetPing 2 IP PDU GSM3G R2:
- Control power inside ATMs, vending machines, and similar equipment remotely, while monitoring the their internal operating conditions (e.g. keep a cash acceptor in the permissible operating temperature range) and warning over the Ethernet or with SMS about bounds violation. In case of interruption of the external power supply, the device will remain connected via SMS messages and carry on monitoring the status of sensors.
- Restart “frozen” modems, access points, routers, servers and other equipment over network or via an SMS command, saving the trouble of plodding along to the remote device location.
- Turning on/ off equipment remotely as necessary in a manual or automatic mode to save energy costs and reduces wear and tear of equipment that should run occasionally or at specific time intervals only (e.g. monitors in a conference room / Internet café or backup servers).
- Control HVAC equipment remotely while monitoring any current situation with connected sensors without physical presence at the facility (incl. an automatic mode), turning 220 V sockets on/off or using IR commands (e.g. the air condition units).
- Receive remote notifications in case of power failure on the distant site.

Features Included
Remote management of device sockets via the Ethernet/Internet networkEach output socket of a NetPing device can be remotely switched on/switched off/reloaded. Sockets can be managed through a built-in web interface, with the help of any browser or using SNMP commands. |
Switching on/off sockets on a scheduleThe NetPing device can switch on and off a voltage on its built-in sockets on its own on a weekly schedule, switch on/off a voltage several times a day, use a special schedule for holidays. This may be useful for a daily/weekly forced reboot of external devices or for turning off unused equipment in a certain time of a day. |
A watchdog for automatic reloading of an external equipmentIf any external device, a router or an access point freezes sometimes, the NetPing PDU can automatically reload these devices. To do this, it constantly inquires indicated IP addresses by the ping protocol. If it gets no response, it will automatically reload a connected device by turning off and turning on its power supply. |
Remote control of sockets via SMS messagesAny socket on a NetPing device can be turned on/off or rebooted using an SMS message. This allows you to control power to a connected device even when the Ethernet/Internet network is down or unavailable. |
