Door sensor metal

A door position sensor. The sensor is designed to be mounted on a metal door of a cabinet or a server room. It contains reed contacts (“dry contact”). For NetPing server room environmental monitoring solutions and power distribution units.

Description

General usage conditions - for industrial and commercial usage in conditions of high humidity (0-95%, non-condensing). The device is not intended for domestic use.

The door sensor determines if a door of a server room or a closet with equipment is opened or closed. The door alarm sensor is a patch one, it consists of two halves. A half with reed contacts and connected wires is mounted still while another half with magnet is mounted on the door. When the door is being closed, a magnet approaches reed contacts and closes them. When the door is being opened, a magnet moves away and contacts open. A peculiarity of this sensor is in a possibility to mount it on a metal door.

The door open sensor is pluggable to NetPing server room environmental monitoring solutions and power distribution units. When the sensor is triggered, a NetPing device can send E-mail, SMS, webhook, and SNMP TRAP notifications. The door sensor is hooked up to one of IO lines of a device and a GND terminal using 2 wires. In the interface of a NetPing device, it is displayed as a status of the IO line, to which it is hooked up.

A door detector is packaged with an inseparable cable, with connectors on the ends. A cable length can be increased with the help of flat cable extenders of RC-4 sensor, which are sequentially plugged one into another. Or it can be done independently with the help of any wire with a minimum cross section of 0,4 mm². Maximum allowable length of a flat cable is 100 meters.
